You should only send your child to school on Monday if you have to, because your work is critical to our COVID-19 response. If you are able to keep your child at home, you should. #StayHomeSaveLives https://t.co/n1B1gngVWr

Florence Pendle is a pupil in Year 4 Black Cats class at Warden House Primary School. On March 1st this year, her great Grandmother - who she calls Yiayia as it's grandmother in Greek - unexpectedly passed away. Florence found this hard to deal with, especially with the lockdown, not seeing friends and not being able to go to London where all her family live. Florence and her mum set up an Ultra challenge to complete in May #mayanywaychallenge. She had all of May to walk a distance of 100km. After one of their walks, Florence's mum posted on Facebook about what Florence was doing and what she was going to do if she completed her challenge. Lots of people then started commenting that she should set up a Just Giving page up for her, which she did. Florence said she would like to raise £100 and so that is what was put as a target. She asked if she could donate sponsor money to the MIND charity as it was a charity close to her great grandmother's heart. Florence completed her 100km walk this week on 20th May and her family couldn't be prouder of her – as are we as her school! Florence has really pushed herself doing this, saying she was doing it in memory of her little Yiayia. Today, her total stands at over £1000! We are sure you will agree, this is a magnificent amount for a 9-year-old to achieve. We are very proud of Florence for all of her achievements. Should you wish to support her fundraising, please click below to access the Just Giving page. Well done Florence! https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/amanda-pendle8
