Local Artist Week
During the last week of Term 1, we are taking part in a special "Local Artist" week at Warden House!
As you know, we love creative Arts at Warden House!
This was evidenced last year when we were awarded the prestigious Artsmark at Gold level. Next week, we have some exciting and “irresistible” activities planned for our children run by some fantastic local artists.
Dance and Drumming Workshops
On Tuesday 17 October, children in Years R, 1, 2 and 3 will be taking part in dance workshops run by local dance teacher Kayleigh Wilson from Dance Point. On the same day, children in years 4, 5 and 6 will be taking part in drumming workshops run by Rich from Rich Rhythms.
Whole School Art Day
On Wednesday 18 October, we have local artist Nova Marshall coming into work with us on a whole school art installation which will brighten up our atrium space outside our Year 3,4 and 5 classrooms. All children will be involved in creating this art piece, which will be inspired by their local area, Deal seafront. We are linking this with a very important conversation that is prevalent in all of our lives right now; climate change, specifically pollution in our oceans. Something we have touched on with our Artist of the Term initiative. The installation will be created using recycled materials and every child will have a part to play in creating something to be added to the final piece.some content for your news story here.
